I created the Seelenzucker label shortly after arriving in Berlin in 2000.

Seelenzucker is a literal translation of soul sugar - a German version I made up. 

Berlin at the time was a pretty grey place compared to London, which I had just left, and I felt that a little bit of sugar for the soul might be very welcome there.

As someone with an architectural background, I remain very interested in shape, construction and detail.

Tropical fish with their incredible colors and wild shapes inspired me during the design process.
